SCHOOL OF DISTANCE EDUCATION (SDE)

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University has established the School of Distance Education with an approval of Distance Education Council, Govt. of India, New Delhi with a view to provide higher education in various disciplines to the students desirous of taking it.
The School is an independent unit headed by a senior academic who works as the Director of the School. There is strong administrative back up provided to the School to facilitate its work. The School takes help of a large number of experts in various fields to run its programmes more effectively. The office of the School is located in Pune.
Bharati Vidyapeeth University is an academic institution with social commitment. It has made high quality education available to a large number of students through its constituent units.  The University is aware that almost 90% of the students, belonging to the college going age-group i.e. 17-21 years, do not get opportunities for higher education because of numerous difficulties, such as some of them are located in rural and tribal areas, some are too poor to afford the cost of higher education, some others are already employed or tied up with the house hold work, etc.
Considering that it is its responsibility to provide educational opportunities to such deprived students - rural, tribal, poor and women, the University has established this School of Distance Education. Through this School, the University makes high quality education available to the students registered with it. The School makes available all the necessary amenities to the students enrolled with it to accelerate their self learning.
The main objective of offering Master of Laws i.e. LL.M. through Distance Education mode is to cater the needs of thousands of Advocates who desire to attain expertise in a special branch of Law while continuing practice. The Post Graduate level programme helps lawyers, teachers, member of judiciary, employees and solicitors in depth study of their area of specialization.
The special features of our distance education learning programme in Law is the students are provided with guidance by qualified and expert faculty, regular coaching through contact classes, quality self learning material, promotion of research, E-learning through video conferencing.
Besides advocates the benefit of Distance Education Programme is availed by Senior Judicial officers, Police Officers, Income Tax Officers and administrative Officers from other sectors. More than 100 judges have so far enrolled themselves for Master of Laws at at our Distance Education Annexes in Pune, Mumbai, Solapur, Kolhapur, Karad and Sangli. The enrollment of more than 1,000 advocates all over India is the evident factor of quality legal education imparted by the School of Distance Education Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in Law Faculty.
